Summers Brothers Racing LLC. front mount distributor drives solve many of the shortcomings of rear-mounted distributors in small and big block Chevrolet engines.

Ignition timing accuracy is improved because camshaft twisting caused by valvetrain and oil pump loads does not affect the distributor. A front-mounted distributor is easily accessible and offers more clearance for intake manifold runners and carburetors. Engine maintenance is simplified, since the intake manifold and heads can be removed without disturbing the distributor. Any standard Chevrolet distributor or magneto can be used with a Summers Brothers front mount distributor drive without modification.

Kits include a lightweight cast aluminum timing chain cover and a thrust bearing to control forward camshaft movement. Front mount distributors can be used with Summers Brothers gear drives, as well as fuel injection pump drives. 2 1/2" aluminum spacers are available to move the water pump and crankshaft pulley forward for clearance.
