Summers Brothers spools are engineered to combine maximum stiffness with minimum weight. Years of experience has shown us where weight can safely be removed without sacrificing strength. The gear flange on a Summers Brothers spool is carefully designed to resist flexing, which improves ring and pinion life. On Ford and Dana 60 Spools, this flange is scalloped and drilled for maximum weight removal -at no additional cost!

Summers Brothers spools are available with standard and oversize axle splines. Large diameter axles greatly increase reliability under the stress of competition. Ford and Dana spools, for example, will accommodate 35 and 40 spline axles. Every Summers Brothers spool is heat treated for strength and wear resistance. Bearing surfaces and ring gear flanges are precision ground, not turned on a lathe. A handsome gold irridited or black oxide finish is the final touch.
